Since we have been married for just under eight years (and dated for three years before we got engaged for one year), I have learnt a lot about my wife. Fortunately, everything that I have learnt about her has been good (or at least hasn’t been anything bad), and I have only continued to fall more in love with her over the course of our nearly twelve year relationship.

One of the things that I have learnt about my wife is that she absolutely loves surprises. Now, if you ask her whether or not she likes surprises, she will always say no. However, this is just her being tricky, because I know better than anyone else that she truly enjoys getting surprised.

Since I know she is such a big fan of surprises, I decided to surprise her out of the blue. I have always thought that these types of surprises are the best, because she has absolutely no idea that I am planning to do something for her.

The thing that I surprised her with was a five day trip to Luton. She had been talking about wanting to get away for awhile, so I made that happen and gave it to her as a surprise that truly made her happy.

Not everyone likes their family. Whether it is because you think it is boring to spend time with your family members, or you simply don’t like the people who are in your family, I have numerous friends who have strained relationships with at least one person in their family (if not more), so I can understand what it is like to be stuck in one of the situations.

Fortunately for me, I have always had a great relationship with the members of family. In addition to loving my parents very much, I can honestly say that I enjoy spending time with the other members of my family. Honestly, I act a bit different around my family members than I do around my friends, but I don’t see that as a bad thing. I still get to be myself, but I just have to remind myself to tone down some of my jokes and humour.

In a couple of weeks, I am going to be taking a short trip to Luton to spend some time with several of my family members. Since it’s not a very far trip for me, I am just going to get a car hire and drive to Luton to see them.
